Indian refined product output slips 10% in April

London, (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) – Indian output of key refined products slumped 10% in April compared to a month earlier – lower than the fall in demand - as the country suffered a second outbreak of Covid-19.

The decline was broadly in line with consumption figures reported by Quantum earlier this month.

The Indian Petroleum Planning and Analysis Cell is expected to announce May's demand figures in the next two weeks.

- Production of LPG fell to 1.04 million mt from 1.107 million mt, down 6% on the month.

- Production of naphtha fell to 1.67 million mt from 1.9 million mt, down 13.4% on the month.

- Production of gasoline fell to 3.22 million mt from 3.583 million mt, down 10.1% on the month.

- Production of jet-kero fell to 936,000 mt from 1.071 million mt, down 12.7% on the month.

- Production of diesel fell to 8.76 million mt from 9.56 million mt, down 8.3% on the month.

- Production of fuel oil fell 16.6% to 524,000 mt from 628,000 mt, down 16.6% on the month.
