US eases travel restrictions to 110 countries
London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - The US has eased travel restrictions to 110 countries as the roll-out of coronavirus vaccines continues.
Sixty-one countries have been lowered from a level 4 "avoid all travel" rating to level 3, allowing fully-vaccinated passengers to travel, said the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention
Another 50 countries and territories have been lowered to level 2 or 1, which means they are very low risk or no risk.
The move follows an update by the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention on its criteria for level 4.
The public health body's recommendation has changed from 100 cases per 100,000 people to 500 cases per 100,000.
The number of passengers flying from US airports was up 3.3% over the seven days to June 7 from a week earlier, rising to 12.461 million people.
