Troubled Russian refinery Antipinsky sold
19 May 2021
London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - The Antipinsky oil refinery in Russia has been sold as part of bankruptcy proceedings, according to Reuters.
A company called Rusinvest completed the purchase of the plant located in West Siberia.
The Antipinsky plant has a capacity of 7.5 million tonnes a year, making it the largest of the refineries not owned by the big players such as Rosneft, Lukoil and Gazprom.
The owner of the refinery filed for bankruptcy in 2019 as it struggled to pay for crude oil deliveries.
Russia's largest bank, Sberbank, had been the refinery's main creditor.
