Trader Vitol launches global bunkering service

London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - Global energy trader Vitol announced Tuesday the launch of a new global bunkering service, Vitol Bunkers.

The service will offer worldwide access to marine fuels and customers will "benefit from Vitol's global reach, infrastructure and commensurate supply capabilities," said a company statement.

The Geneva-based company called attention to opportunities in bunkering in "growth markets, including Asia and the Middle East" in its annual report last month.

The trader has also stated the aim previously to position itself for the energy transition and maritime shipping is seen as one of the hardest sectors to decarbonise, meaning that fossil-based volumes in the sector may persist longer than for others.
