Spanish consumption of automotive fuels at 86% of April 2019 levels

London, (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - Consumption of gasoline and diesel fell almost 10% in April compared to a month earlier as the country imposed travel restrictions to combat a second outbreak of Covid-19.

According to provisional data from Cores, the country consumed 378,000 mt of gasoline for motor transport in April (105,000 bpd), down 11% in March and 14% below April 2021 figures.

And in terms of diesel consumption, the country consumed 1.7 million mt over the period (422,000 bpd) down 9% on the month and 14% on the same figure in April 2019.

Spain entered a strict national lockdown in March, with even children being banned from going outside until May.
