Spain's March road fuel sales up 29.3% y-o-y; jet down 58.4%
London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - Spain's consumption of road fuels in March increased 29.3% on the year to 2.288 million mt, although this was still down 3.4% from March 2019, according to data released Friday by CORES, the country's oil stockholding agency.
The biggest recovery in relative terms came from gasoline, which gained 47.3% year-on-year to 407,000 mt, while diesel rose 25.9% over the same period to 1.881 million mt.
Jet fuel sales were 124,000 mt in March, down 58.4% on the year and a whopping 76.6% from the 2019 figure.
Spain remains under lockdown measures with travel between provinces and national borders restricted and hospitality not yet operating full hours, although the State of Alarm is expected to end on May 9th and around 28% of the population have received at least one dose of vaccine as of the start of this week.
