London, (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - South African refiner Engen is seeking to buy 35,000 mt of very low sulfur fuel oil for loading May 27-29, according to Argus Media.

The refiner, which has had to shut in production at its Durban refinery due to a fire in December, is seeking marine fuel with a maximum sulfur content of 0.5% and is seeking offers either priced against 180cst or 10ppm gasoil FOB Singapore assessments.

The tender, which is due to close Thursday with a winner announced Friday, comes as a number of refineries are down in the country, Argus Media said.
