London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) – An Israeli-operated commercial vessel has been hit by a missile close to the UAE port of Fujairah, according to a number of regional media reports on Tuesday.
Reports named the vessel as the Hyperion Ray, but said only minor damage was sustained and no casualties were reported.
Al Arabiya news channel reported that this is the second time a ship owned by the same company has been targeted.
The incident heightens tensions in the region, after Iran blamed Israel for the recent blast at Iran's Natanz nuclear facility.
Earlier Tuesday, reports surfaced of Iran-backed Houthi rebels launching drone and missile strikes against Saudi Aramco targets in Jeddah and Jubail.
