London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) - Refiners in India have postponed maintenance work as the country copes with the spike in Covid-19 infections, according to media reports.

Bharat Petroleum (BPCL) will postpone its maintenance planned for this month at its 240,000 b/d Mumbai refinery and will also defer work at its Bina facility that was planned for June.

Reliance has also postponed a one-month turnaround in May at the 1.8 million mt/year paraxylene unit at its Jamnager refinery complex.

Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) may have to postpone scheduled maintenance in August at its 300,000 b/d Paradip refinery, according to market participants, although not confirmed by IOC itself.
