ExxonMobil plans extra 250 kb/d of crude oil at Guyana Starbroek block
London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) – Energy major ExxonMobil is planning to add 250,000 barrels/day of crude oil production by 2025 to the Starbroek deepwater block in Guyana, which would take the total production potential to more than 800,000 barrels per day, according to an environmental permit application submitted to the Guyanan government.
The yellowtail project would be the fourth project on the block, after the Liza-1, Liza-2 and Payara projects.
Approximately 45-55 wells would be built, with production starting in 2025 and expected to last at least twenty years.
The associated floating, production, storage and offloading (FPSO) vessel is planned to store up to 2 million barrels.
ExxonMobil has a 45% stake in the Starbroek block, while US company Hess owns 30% and China's state-owned CNOOC has the final 25%.
