Quantum Commodity Intelligence – ExxonMobil shut an undisclosed unit and reported flaring at its Fawley refinery overnight, but says the site remains operational after dealing with the matter.

Exxon reported an operational incident at its 270,000 bpd Fawley plant in Hampshire, England, on Tuesday evening, with flaring reportedly part of its normal safety procedure.

"Further to the incident during the evening of 8 November, our onsite teams safely and effectively addressed the matter. There were no injuries," the company said on its Twitter page Wednesday.

"The ExxonMobil Fawley site remains operational."

Workers at the same plant have called a strike from 21 November, according to the GMB union on Wednesday.
