Climate activists stage protest against Lloyd's of London

London (Quantum Commodity Intelligence) – Climate activists from the Extinction Rebellion group have protested at the Lloyd's of London insurance market Friday, dumping fake coal outside its headquarters as part of a campaign against insuring fossil fuel mining.

Activists held up banners with slogans such as "Climate Criminals" outside the Lloyd's building on Lime Street, City of London. In 2020, Lloyd's announced it was scaling back its exposure to coal and oil sands, a reversal of its previous hands-off approach to climate change strategy.

On Thursday, HSBC's Canary Wharf headquarters in London was targeted by activists, who used hammers and chisels to smash windows on the building.
